Suffolk County Council Awards £1.07 Million Individual Placement Support Contract

Suffolk County Council has awarded a contract worth £1.067 million excluding VAT (£1.281 million including VAT) for the delivery of its Individual Placement Support (IPS) (Substance Misuse) service.

The contract has been awarded to INTUITIVE THINKING SKILLS LTD following an open procedure under the Light Touch Regime.

The IPS scheme will provide tailored employment support for individuals receiving structured community treatment for drug and alcohol dependence through Suffolk’s commissioned Integrated Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service provider, Turning Point. The service is designed to help people who are unemployed, as well as those at risk of losing their jobs, to obtain and sustain meaningful employment.

Working closely with Turning Point, the provider will deliver person-centred support, including co-location across three hubs in Suffolk and the potential to operate from satellite locations across the county.

The contract is scheduled to run from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2029, with the option to extend by a further two one-year periods, potentially taking the agreement through to 31 March 2031.

The award decision was made on 28 July 2026, with the contract expected to be signed from 31 August 2026 following the standstill period.
