NHS trusts award taxi services contracts across Lancashire

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have awarded contracts for the provision of taxi services supporting three hospital sites across Lancashire.

The contracts cover Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, Burnley General Hospital and Blackpool Victoria Hospital, providing non-emergency patient transport, staff transport, ad hoc pick-ups and drop-offs, and the transport of clinical items including samples and case notes.

The procurement was divided into three lots with a combined contract value of £640,809.35 excluding VAT (£768,970.68 including VAT).

For Lot 1, covering taxi services for Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, IROAM Private Hire was awarded a contract worth £277,984.65 excluding VAT (£333,581.58 including VAT).

Lot 2, covering Burnley General Hospital, was awarded to CMA Partnership Limited T/A Cavailer Taxis. The contract is valued at £104,471.70 excluding VAT (£125,366.04 including VAT).

For Lot 3, covering Blackpool Victoria Hospital, C Cabs secured a contract worth £258,353 excluding VAT(£310,023.06 including VAT).

All three contracts were awarded on 13 July 2026 following an open procedure. The contracts are expected to commence on 1 September 2026 and run until 31 August 2029, with options to extend by up to a further two years through two 12-month extensions.

Competition varied across the three lots. Five tenders were received for both the Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospital contracts, while the Blackpool Victoria Hospital contract received a single tender. All successful suppliers are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
