Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a contract to Edge Medical Ltd for the supply of spinal surgical consumables, supporting spinal surgery services delivered by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
The contract covers the supply of spinal implants, fixation systems, interbody devices, biologics, instrumentation and associated surgical products, together with the products detailed within the agreed pricing schedule.
Awarded through a direct award procedure, the contract has a value of £278,730 excluding VAT (£334,476 including VAT).
The initial 12-month contract is expected to run from 10 August 2026 to 9 August 2027, with the option to extend for a further two 12-month periods, potentially taking the agreement through to 9 August 2029.
The award decision was made on 28 July 2026, with the earliest contract signature date scheduled for 10 August 2026.
Edge Medical Ltd, an SME based in Manchester, has been appointed to deliver the supply of the required spinal surgical products to support ongoing clinical services.
