Lincolnshire County Council has awarded a contract to Alderson Limited to deliver its Home Based Reablement Service (HBRS), supporting people to maximise their independence and reduce or eliminate the need for ongoing care services.
The service is designed to prevent deterioration, improve wellbeing and help people regain the skills and confidence needed to live independently. Reablement support will focus on achieving personalised goals, developing daily living and problem-solving skills, and making use of appropriate equipment, technology, living aids and community assets to support recovery.
The contract is valued at £37.5 million and is expected to run from 1 November 2026 until 31 October 2029, with the option to extend for up to 24 months, potentially taking the agreement through to 31 October 2031.
The procurement was conducted using an open procedure under the light touch regime. A total of 11 tenders were received, with seven progressing to the final assessment stage. Four of the final tenders were submitted by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Through the Home Based Reablement Service, Alderson Limited will support people across Lincolnshire to recover independence following illness or a change in circumstances, helping them transition to reduced or no ongoing long-term care wherever possible.
