Richmond Borough Mind and Together for Mental Wellbeing Awarded Community Mental Health Contracts

The London Boroughs of Wandsworth and Richmond upon Thames have awarded contracts for the delivery of community-based wellbeing services designed to support adults with mental health needs across both boroughs.

Awarded following an open, light touch procurement procedure, the contracts will provide short-term, reablement-focused interventions aimed at preventing, reducing and delaying the escalation of mental health needs. Services will include one-to-one support, group sessions and in-reach to people’s homes, with providers working alongside health, social care and voluntary sector partners to improve outcomes and tackle health inequalities.

Lot 1 – Richmond Emotional Wellbeing Service has been awarded to Richmond Borough Mind. The contract is valued at £652,500 excluding VAT (£783,000 including VAT) and will run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2030, with the option to extend by up to two years on a 1+1 basis, potentially taking the agreement through to 30 September 2032.

The Richmond lot attracted four tenders, with three progressing to the final assessment stage. Two bids were submitted by SMEs and three by VCSE organisations.

Lot 2 – Wandsworth Emotional Outreach Service has been awarded to Together for Mental Wellbeing. The contract has a value of £765,000 excluding VAT (£918,000 including VAT) and will also run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2030, with the same 1+1 year extension option to 30 September 2032.

The Wandsworth lot received five tenders, with three reaching the final assessment stage. One tender was submitted by an SME and three by VCSE organisations.

Both contracts were awarded on 20 July 2026, with assessment summaries issued to tenderers the same day. Following the standstill period, the earliest date the contracts may be signed is 31 July 2026.
