UHN Awards Funeral Services Contract to Co-op Funeralcare

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, operating as the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) NHS Group, have awarded a contract for the provision of funeral services to Funeral Services Limited t/a Co-op Funeralcare.

The contract has been awarded following an open procurement process and has a value of £184,500 excluding VAT(£221,400 including VAT).

The agreement is expected to commence on 1 September 2026 and run until 31 August 2029, with the option to extend for a further two 12-month periods, potentially taking the contract through to 31 August 2031.

The procurement attracted three tenders, all of which were assessed at the final stage. Two submissions came from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with one supplier ultimately awarded the contract.

The contract covers the provision of funeral services across the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group, supporting the trusts’ ongoing operational requirements.

The award decision was made on 18 June 2026, with the earliest contract signature date scheduled for 31 July 2026.
