Kent Association for the Blind Awarded Bromley Sensory Support Service Contract

The London Borough of Bromley has awarded a contract to Kent Association for the Blind to deliver its Sensory Support Service for adults aged 18 and over with hearing impairment, vision impairment or dual sensory loss.

The contract has a value of £1.393 million excluding VAT (£1.672 million including VAT) and is due to commence on 1 October 2026, running until 30 September 2029.

The agreement includes the option to extend for up to four additional years, potentially taking the contract through to 30 September 2033. Any extension will be applied at the sole discretion of the council following a review of contract performance during the initial term.

The service is intended to promote independence, improve wellbeing and ensure residents have access to appropriate specialist support. It will provide practical and emotional support, alongside information, advice and guidance for residents across the borough.

Four Bids Received

The contract was awarded following an open procedure under the Light Touch procurement regime.

The council received four tenders, with three progressing to the final assessment stage. Kent Association for the Blind was selected as the successful provider.
