Thurrock Council Awards £9.7 Million Autism Support Service Contract

Thurrock Council has awarded a £9.7 million contract to Positive Support Group Limited to deliver its 18–25 Autism Support Service.

The service will support young people with autism to develop independent living skills, improve their health and wellbeing, participate in their communities, and prepare for education or employment.

The programme is designed to support a small cohort of young people who require intensive, personalised assistance, delivered through a combination of structured learning, community-based activities and family engagement. The provider will deliver a person-centred service focused on four core outcome areas: independent living; health and wellbeing; community participation, including friends and relationships; and education, employment and vocational opportunities.

The contract has a value of £9,704,160 including VAT and is expected to run from 1 September 2026 until 31 August 2030, with the option to extend for up to a further two years.

A total of 11 tenders were received and assessed through an open procedure under the Light Touch Regime. Positive Support Group Limited was selected as the successful bidder, with 10 suppliers unsuccessful in the competition.
