The Guardian Service Wins £517k NHS Freedom to Speak Up Contract

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust has selected The Guardian Service Ltd to deliver its Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardian Services.

The service will provide Trust staff with access to an appropriately trained and experienced named Guardian offering confidential, independent and person-centred support.

The Guardian Service will provide an independent and impartial speaking-up service, supporting staff to raise concerns safely and providing advice, advocacy and support. The service will also manage and triage concerns, provide reporting and thematic analysis, and support organisational learning and cultural development.

The contract is valued at £516,968 excluding VAT and is expected to run from 18 September 2026 to 17 September 2029, with options for two additional 12-month extensions taking it to 17 September 2031.

Three tenders were received and assessed, with The Guardian Service the sole successful supplier.

The award decision was made on 26 August 2026 following a competitive flexible procedure. The earliest date the contract will be signed is 8 September 2026.
