Medway Council Awards £1m Medway Assessment Centre Contract

Medway Council has awarded a contract for the delivery of the Medway Assessment Centre (MAC), providing accommodation and support for people experiencing rough sleeping with multiple complex needs.

The service will support people with co-occurring conditions which may include problematic substance use, physical and/or mental health support needs, a history of offending and learning difficulties.

Caring Hands – KING’S CHURCH MEDWAY has been awarded the contract, which is valued at £1 million excluding VAT and £1.2 million including VAT.

The contract is expected to begin on 10 September 2026 and run until 31 August 2029, with the option of a further 12-month extension to 30 August 2030.

Two tenders were received and both were assessed at the final stage. Both tenders were submitted by SMEs.

The award decision was made on 14 August 2026, with the contract expected to be signed no earlier than 9 September 2026.
