Housing Action Management awarded £7.45m Chelmsford temporary accommodation contract

Chelmsford City Council has awarded HOUSING ACTION MANAGEMENT LTD a £7.45m contract to provide and manage temporary accommodation at Paragon House in Chelmsford.

The contract covers 69 nightly let accommodation units to support the council’s housing obligations. Of these, 26 ground-floor units offer fully accessible accommodation, including level-access shower facilities.

The contract has an estimated value of £7,454,044.22 excluding VAT, or £8,944,853.06 including VAT. Awarded through a direct award under the Procurement Act 2023, it has an initial three-year term, with the option to extend for up to two additional 12-month periods.

The estimated contract period runs from 2 November 2026 to 1 November 2029, with potential extensions until 1 November 2031. The dates are indicative, and the notice states that the contract is expected to be signed no earlier than 28 October 2026.
