Richmond Awards £17.9 Million Day Services Contract to Two Community Providers

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames has awarded its Richmond Day Services contract to Age UK Richmond upon Thames and St Augustine’s Community Care Trust.

The contract covers day services for adults with eligible care needs, including services supporting older people with complex needs and working-age adults with neurological conditions.

The contract has a value of £17.95 million and is expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2031, with the option to extend for up to five additional years, potentially taking the agreement through to 30 September 2036.

The contracting authority stated that any extension will depend on demand, future commissioning intentions at the end of the initial contract period and the providers’ intention to continue delivering the service.

Awarded Providers

The contract has been awarded to two voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations:

• Age UK Richmond upon Thames
• St Augustine’s Community Care Trust

Direct Award

The contract was awarded through a direct award under the Light Touch Regime.

The award decision was made on 24 July 2026, with a standstill period ending on 6 August 2026. The earliest date the contract may be signed is 7 September 2026.

Supporting Adult Social Care

The Richmond Day Services contract will provide community-based support for older people with complex needs and working-age adults with neurological conditions across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
