Dumfries and Galloway Council Awards £1.17m Supported Accommodation Contract

Dumfries and Galloway Council has awarded a £1.17 million contract to Wheatley Care for the provision of supported accommodation for young people who are looked after and/or care leavers aged 16–24 in Dumfries.

The contract will provide continuity of an existing service offering supported accommodation for young people, with single and dual occupancy opportunities available. The service is designed to respond to individual support needs, with support plans developed in consultation with the young person and the referring social work service.

The contract was awarded on 22 July 2026 through a negotiated procedure without prior call for competition. The council stated that the arrangement is a continuation of an established supported accommodation project and that no competition was identified that could provide the required level of accommodation and support within the timescale required.
