38 Providers Awarded £1.2bn Cornwall Care Home Contracts

Cornwall Council has appointed 38 providers to deliver nursing and residential care services for older people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The contracts will maintain existing care home provision while the council progresses a development framework for new schemes aimed at bridging the gap between supply and demand in Cornwall.

The award has an estimated value of £1.2 billion excluding VAT. A total of 42 tenders were received and assessed, with 38 providers successful.

The contracts are expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2031, with extensions potentially taking the arrangements through to 30 September 2034.

Successful providers include Anchor Hanover Group, Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited, Cornwallis Care Services Ltd, Cornish Care Limited, Minster Care Management Limited, South West Care Homes Limited, St Philips Care Limited, Stonehaven (Healthcare) Ltd, Swallowcourt Limited and Thomas Henry Mallaband Limited, alongside 28 other providers.
