Devon County Council has awarded Age UK Devon two contracts worth a combined £663,000 to deliver support for unpaid carers across the county.
The £398,000 Carer Peer Support Service will provide person-centred support aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation, improving wellbeing and helping carers build community connections and informal support networks.
A further £265,000 contract covers the Carer Ambassador Service, which will support a network of volunteer carers to help ensure unpaid carers have a voice in the design, commissioning and evaluation of health and social care services.
Both contracts are expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2028, with a potential extension to 30 September 2028 at the council’s discretion.
