Somerset Council has awarded a contract to Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership to provide delivery and quality support for school age childcare across the county.
The contract has a value of £69,000 excluding VAT (£82,800 including VAT) and has been awarded through a below threshold procurement without competition under the Light Touch Regime.
The agreement is expected to commence on 1 September 2026 and run until 31 August 2027.
The service will provide delivery support and quality improvement across school age childcare, including wraparound provision, free breakfast clubs and holiday provision. The contract will support schools and childcare providers through training, resources, peer learning and targeted visits, while Somerset Council retains responsibility for funding, financial governance and reporting.
The earliest contract signature date is scheduled for 1 August 2026.
