Birmingham City Council has awarded Randstad Solutions Limited a contract worth £712,953 excluding VAT to deliver the Birmingham Virtual School Educational Wellbeing Service.
The service will provide early intervention and preventative support for children who are looked-after, previously looked-after or known to social care in Birmingham. It will focus on improving educational achievement, inclusion and progression by helping children prepare for national examinations and tests, including SATs, GCSEs and A-levels, and supporting school transitions at key stages.
The contract is estimated to run from 2 January 2027 to 1 January 2030, with an option to extend for a further year to 1 January 2031, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The award decision was made on 26 October 2026. The earliest date for signing the contract is 23 November 2026.
