The Ministry of Defence has awarded the contract for the provision of Early Years and Childcare at RAF Cranwell to RAFA Kidz Limited.
The contract was awarded following a below threshold open competition under a concession arrangement. The published contract value is £1 excluding VAT (£1 including VAT).
The agreement is expected to commence on 1 September 2026 and run until 31 August 2031, with the option to extend for a further two years, potentially taking the contract through to 31 August 2033.
The contract covers the delivery of nursery provision and early years childcare services at RAF Cranwell, supporting service families with childcare for children aged 0 to 5 years. The existing nursery operates from a purpose-built facility on the station, offering full-day, half-day and sessional childcare, as well as funded early education for children aged 9 months and over.
The procurement attracted two tenders, with one tender assessed at the final stage. The successful supplier was RAFA Kidz Limited.
The award decision was made on 8 July 2026, with the earliest contract signature date scheduled for 20 July 2026.
