Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service Wins £7.47m Safe Accommodation and Support Contract

West Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Council have awarded Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service a contract to provide Safe Accommodation (refuge) and Support Services for victims and survivors of domestic abuse across the county.

The service will provide safe, psychologically and trauma-informed support to adults and children affected by domestic abuse, with a focus on immediate safety, long-term recovery and helping individuals rebuild their lives free from abuse.

The joint service has been commissioned in response to the councils’ statutory responsibilities under the Domestic Abuse Act and accompanying Domestic Abuse Statutory Guidance Framework 2021.

Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service has been awarded the contract with a value of £7,469,000.

The contract is expected to run from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2029, with options to extend for two further 12-month periods, potentially taking the agreement through to 31 October 2031.

A total of 12 tenders were received and assessed, with Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service the sole supplier awarded the contract. The organisation is identified in the award notice as a voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE).

The award decision was made on 21 August 2026, with the contract expected to be signed no earlier than 7 September 2026.
