Sensory Needs – Social Support Services

Bracknell Forest Borough Council is seeking a provider to deliver social support services for adults with visual impairments, including people who are deafblind.

The service will be available to Bracknell Forest residents aged 18 and over and will provide person-centred information, advice and guidance to help individuals maintain independent and fulfilling lives.

The Council has made clear that this is not a clinical service and will not undertake statutory sensory impairment support.

The initial contract is expected to run for two years from 1 April 2027, with the potential for up to a further two years of extensions.

Service Requirements

The commissioned service will support Bracknell Forest residents aged 18 or over who have a visual impairment, including people who are deafblind.

Support will focus on providing person-centred:

  • Information
  • Advice
  • Guidance

The purpose of this support will be to help individuals continue to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Clinical services and statutory sensory impairment support do not form part of the requirement.

Delivery Length: 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2029, with the option to extend for a maximum of 24 months to 31 March 2031. Extensions would be split into two 12-month periods.
