Making Space Wins Peterborough Community Navigator & Wellbeing Service Contract

Peterborough City Council has awarded Making Space a contract to deliver its Community Navigator and Wellbeing Service across Peterborough.

The service aims to maintain and improve the health, wellbeing and independence of eligible adults through an early intervention and prevention approach, supporting people and communities to self-care and manage needs where possible.

The service forms part of the council’s wider Front Door Reviews and Community Offer programme and will contribute to the Prevent, Reduce and Delay agenda, with the objective of reducing deterioration and reliance on statutory health and social care services.

Making Space has been awarded the contract with a value of £250,254.91 excluding VAT (£300,305.89 including VAT).

The contract is expected to run from 3 September 2026 to 2 September 2028, with the council able to extend it for a further 12 months to 2 September 2029 at its sole discretion.

A total of 13 tenders were received, with seven assessed at the final stage. Making Space, which is identified in the award notice as a voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE), was the sole supplier awarded the contract.

The procurement was conducted as a below-threshold open competition under the light-touch regime.

The award decision was made on 21 August 2026, with the contract expected to be signed no earlier than 3 September 2026.
