North Northamptonshire Council has awarded a contract to Memoria Limited for the servicing, maintenance and operational support of cremation equipment at Warren Hill Crematorium in Kettering.
The contract is valued at £146,000 excluding VAT (£175,200 including VAT) and will initially run for 24 months, from 29 September 2026 to 28 September 2028.
The council has the option to extend the agreement by a further 12 months, potentially taking the contract through to 28 September 2029.
Warren Hill Crematorium operates two A.T.I. gas cremators – one CR2000XL and one CR2000 – and undertakes approximately 2,000 cremations each year.
The contract covers maintenance and support for the cremators and associated equipment, including the Automatic Charging Bier, Air Compressor, Mercury Abatement Equipment, Heat Exchanger, Standby Generator, cooling fans, control systems and remote monitoring infrastructure.
The council said the contract will provide continuity of service, mitigate the risk of equipment failure and support the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the crematorium until replacement cremators are commissioned.
Three tenders were received and assessed, with two submitted by SMEs. Memoria Limited, based in Bicester, was selected following the below-threshold open competition.
The award decision was made on 1 September 2026, with the contract expected to be signed from 29 September 2026.
