Nottingham City Council has awarded its CPU 6554 Funeral Services contract to Funeral Services Limited (trading as Co-op Funeralcare).
The contract has a value of £833,333.33 excluding VAT (£1,000,000 including VAT) and was awarded following an open procurement process.
The agreement is expected to commence on 21 July 2026 and run until 21 July 2028, with the option to extend for a further two years, potentially taking the contract through to 21 July 2030.
The contract covers the provision of Public Health Funerals and The Nottingham Funeral service on behalf of Nottingham City Council.
The procurement attracted six tenders, with five assessed at the final stage. Three submissions came from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with Funeral Services Limited selected as the successful supplier.
The award decision was made on 8 July 2026, with the earliest contract signature date scheduled for 21 July 2026.
