Bedford Borough Council has awarded a £720,000 contract, excluding VAT, to Verity Shores Ltd for children’s home placements for 2026/27.
The contract covers Ofsted-registered residential childcare services for children and young people aged 9–17 with social, emotional and behavioural needs. The provision includes trauma-informed, relationship-based care for young people affected by trauma, attachment difficulties, exploitation risks, missing episodes, emotional dysregulation and associated vulnerabilities.
The contract is valued at £864,000 including VAT and is scheduled to run from 28 October 2026 to 1 June 2027, with an estimated duration of seven months and five days.
Bedford Borough Council selected Verity Shores Ltd through a direct award procedure under the light-touch regime, citing a user-choice contract and stating that a competitive process was not in the user’s best interests.
