Hertfordshire County Council Awards £2m Communicator Guide and Intervenor Services Contract

Hertfordshire County Council has awarded a £2 million contract to Action Deafness for the provision of Communicator Guide and Intervenor Services.

The contract is expected to run from 1 November 2026 until 31 October 2029, with the option to extend for up to two further years until 31 October 2031, subject to available funding.

Action Deafness was selected following an Open Procedure under the Light Touch regime. Two tenders were received, with one tender assessed at the final stage.

Hertfordshire County Council made the award decision on 10 August 2026. The standstill period is due to end on 20 August 2026, with 18 September 2026 listed as the earliest date the contract will be signed.

The contract has a stated value of £2,000,000 excluding VAT and £2,400,000 including VAT and covers Health and Social Work Services (CPV 85000000), Social Work and Related Services (CPV 85300000), Social Work Services (CPV 85310000), Social Work Services Without Accommodation (CPV 85312000) and Social Services (CPV 85320000).
