NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded Mental Health Matters a contract worth £828,750 excluding VAT (£994,500 including VAT) to deliver the Rotherham Severe Mental Illness (SMI) Living Well Service.
The service will support adults living with severe mental illness as part of Rotherham’s Healthy Neighbourhoods approach, helping them access timely support, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and reduce barriers to better health outcomes.
Staff will work within neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams across North, East, South and West Rotherham. During the 2026/27 shadow implementation period, the service will also help develop and test neighbourhood-based working arrangements. Until these arrangements are fully operational, it will work alongside Rotherham Primary Care Integrated Mental Health Hubs.
The contract will run for two years, from 1 February 2027 to 31 January 2029, with an option to extend by a further year until 31 January 2030, bringing the maximum contract duration to three years. The annual budget must not exceed £331,500.
The award decision was made on 30 October 2026, with six tenders received and assessed at the final stage. The earliest date for contract signing is 12 November 2026.
The notice confirms that the standstill period expires at midnight on 11 November 2026.
