Central Bedfordshire Council has awarded a £615,000 contract to five providers for community-based short break leisure activities for children and young people with disabilities.
The open framework covers two lots, supporting children and young people aged up to 25. Lot 1 covers those with learning disabilities and/or autism, across Dunstable and Houghton Regis, Leighton Buzzard, Ivel Valley and West Mid Beds. Lot 2 covers those with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and additional physical and/or sensory needs across the whole local authority area.
The five successful providers are Autism Bedfordshire, Embrace (Bedford & District), Families United Network, Hear2Listen and Spectrum Community Arts.
The award decision was made on 26 January 2026, with contracts scheduled to run from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028. An extension option of a further year, until 31 March 2029, is included. The earliest contract signing date was 9 February 2026.
The notice records five successful suppliers for each lot but does not specify which individual providers were awarded Lot 1 or Lot 2. The £615,000 value is stated as inclusive of VAT and may be shared between the framework lots.
