The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea intends to formally award Learning Disability Network a contract worth £2,987,160 including VAT to provide learning disability short breaks and emergency support for adults.
The direct award covers services from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031, including an optional two-year extension. The initial contract period runs to 31 March 2029, with the extension potentially taking the arrangement through to March 2031.
The contract is intended to maintain continuity of services while plans are developed and implemented to redesign the Kingsbridge Road site. A full competitive tender process is expected to follow completion of the building works.
The Council’s previous contract with the provider ended on 31 March 2026, but Learning Disability Network has continued delivering the services since then. The new contract is intended to be backdated to 1 April 2026 to cover services delivered since the previous agreement expired.
The award decision was made on 12 August 2026. The notice identifies 26 October 2026 as the indicative date for formally entering into the contract, with retrospective effect, although this date is subject to change.
Westminster City Council is also named as a contracting authority in the notice. The stated contract value for the full term, including the optional extension, is £2,489,300 excluding VAT.
