Westminster City Council intends to award Learning Disability Network London a contract worth £5,974,320 including VAT to provide learning disability short breaks and emergency support for adults.
The contract covers a period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031, including an optional two-year extension. The initial term is listed as running until 31 March 2029, with the extension potentially taking the arrangement through to March 2031.
The direct award is intended to maintain service continuity while plans are developed and implemented to redesign the Kingsbridge Road site. A full competitive tender process is expected to follow once building works are complete.
The Council’s previous contract with Learning Disability Network ended on 31 March 2026, but the organisation has continued delivering the services since then. The new contract is intended to be backdated to 1 April 2026 to cover this period.
The award decision was made on 14 August 2026. The notice identifies 26 October 2026 as the indicative date for formally entering into the contract, subject to change. At the time of the notice, the formal award was still intended to take place following publication of the contract award notice.
