Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust Set to Win £183.6m Bradford Public Health Nursing Contract

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust has been named as the intended provider of a public health nursing contract worth £183.58 million including VAT, awarded by City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council.

The contract covers the Living Well Public Health Nursing Service across Bradford District and Craven, delivering the Healthy Child Programme for children, young people and families from pregnancy to age 19, and up to 25 for care leavers and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Services include health visiting, school nursing and associated public health nursing support.

The award decision was made on 12 October 2026, with the contract scheduled to run from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032. The council may extend the agreement by up to a further five years, through extensions of up to 36 months and 24 months, potentially taking the contract to 31 March 2037.

The notice records four tenders received and assessed, with Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust selected as the sole successful supplier. The other bidders were Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, Locala Community Partnerships C.I.C. and HCRG Care Services Ltd.

The notice states that the earliest date for signing the contract is 3 November 2026, following a standstill period ending on 29 October. The award is therefore an intention to award, and the contract has not yet been confirmed as signed.
