North Cumbria NHS Trust to Provide Infection Sciences Testing Under £131,708 Contract

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust intend to award a £131,708.33 contract to North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust for infection sciences laboratory testing that cannot be provided in-house.

The contract is intended to run for 29 months, from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2029, with two optional 12-month extensions. If both extensions are exercised, the contract could run until 31 March 2031.

The contract is valued at £131,708.33, with the notice stating the same amount both excluding and including VAT. The award decision was made on 28 September 2026, and the earliest date for signing the contract is 30 October 2026.

The Trust intends to make the award through Direct Award Process C under the Provider Selection Regime 2023, using a below-threshold procedure without competition. The notice describes an intended award rather than a confirmed signed agreement.
