Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board Awards £100,000 Medical Records Transport Contract

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is set to award a £100,000 contract to Just Wales Ltd for the transportation of medical records.

The one-year contract will cover the specialised movement of patient records across Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot and the Central Valleys, running from 14 September 2026 until 13 September 2027.

The service supports clinical teams through the timely and secure delivery of physical medical records required for diagnosis and treatment.

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, which is managing the procurement process on behalf of the Health Board, said continuity of the service is critical to patient safety and that disruption could delay care and create immediate clinical risk.

The award is being made directly to existing provider Just Wales Ltd. The notice states that market scoping found no reasonable alternative provider able to deliver the service without introducing substantial risk.

It also highlights the supplier’s existing familiarity with local clinical environments, hospital layouts and record flows, alongside requirements for time-critical delivery and secure handling of medical information.

The contract was awarded through a below-threshold procedure without competition. The award decision was made on 18 August 2026, with the earliest contract signing date set for 1 September 2026.
