Manchester City Council has awarded a contract to Coram Voice (formerly Voice for the Child in Care) for the provision of its Children and Young People Independent Advocacy and Independent Visitor Service.
The service will provide independent advocacy support for Manchester cared-for children and young people, care leavers, 16- and 17-year-olds at risk of becoming homeless, and care-experienced children and young people wishing to make a complaint or representation about council services. It will also provide an Independent Visitor service for cared-for children aged 8 to 18.
Coram Voice has been awarded the contract with a value of £696,325 excluding VAT (£835,590 including VAT).
The contract is expected to run from 1 November 2026 until 31 October 2029, with options to extend for an additional one year plus one year, potentially taking the agreement through to 31 October 2031.
Five tenders were received, with three assessed at the final stage. Coram Voice was the sole supplier awarded the contract.
The award decision was made on 28 August 2026, with the earliest contract signing date stated as 21 September 2026.
