Rutland County Council has awarded Alan Barnacle Ltd a contract for grave digging and the preparation of burial plots at Kilburn Road Cemetery in Oakham.
The council anticipates a maximum of 20 burials per year.
The contract is valued at £16,200 excluding VAT (£19,440 including VAT) and is expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2028, with the option for a one-year extension to 31 March 2029. The extension can be invoked by the council only.
Three tenders were received, all from SMEs, with Alan Barnacle Ltd selected as the successful supplier.
The award decision was made on 14 September 2026, with the contract expected to be signed no earlier than 22 September 2026.
