North East Combined Authority Awards £99,000 Youth Employment Support Contract

North East Combined Authority has awarded a £99,000 contract to The Skill Mill Limited to provide specialist employment support for economically inactive young people with experience of the youth or criminal justice system.

The service will provide one-to-one support for young people aged 16 to 24, helping them overcome barriers, access coordinated support and progress into education, training and employment.

Support will be delivered through an expanded Navigator model for residents across the North East, covering Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear.

The £99,000 contract is expected to run for seven months, from 1 September 2026 until 31 March 2027.

Gateshead-based The Skill Mill Limited is identified in the award notice as a voluntary, community or social enterprise.

The contract was awarded through a below-threshold procedure without competition, with the earliest signing date stated as 1 September 2026.
