8 Providers Secure £6m North East Adult Skills Contracts

North East Combined Authority has selected eight providers for two contracts worth a combined £6 million under its Integrated Settlement Skills Programme.

Back to Work Training Limited, Gateshead College, Learning Curve Group Limited, NCG, New College Durham, Sportscape Training Ltd and Zenith Training Limited have been selected for the £5 million Skills for Work – Foundational Economy contract.

Aim 2 Learn Ltd and Back to Work Training Limited have been selected for the £1 million Skills Activation – Level 3 Information & Communication Technology contract.

The programme commissions adult skills provision across Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear, with the two contracts covering training services designed to support skills development and employment opportunities.

The contracts are expected to run from 17 September 2026 until 31 July 2027, with two 12-month extension options potentially taking them to 31 July 2029.

A total of 38 tenders were received, with eight suppliers awarded contracts following an open procedure.
