Cheshire West and Chester Council has awarded two contracts worth a combined £1,099,686, including VAT, to Disability Positive and Endorphins Group Ltd to deliver targeted short breaks for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Disability Positive has been awarded a £622,602 contract covering Chester and Ellesmere Port, while Endorphins Group Ltd will deliver services in Winsford, Northwich and Neston under a £477,084 contract. Both values include VAT.
The services will give children and young people opportunities to enjoy activities, develop friendships and spend time away from their families, while providing parents and carers with breaks from their caring responsibilities. Provision may include daytime or overnight care, educational and leisure activities, and support during evenings, weekends and school holidays.
Both awards were decided on 26 October 2026, with assessment summaries sent to tenderers on 28 October. The contracts are estimated to run from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030, with an option to extend for a further two years, until 31 March 2032.
The Council will review the relevant contract performance and service-user needs before deciding whether to exercise the extension options. For the Endorphins Group contract, the notice also specifies a review of best value.
