West Sussex County Council has awarded an £800,000 contract to Alliance For Better Care CIC to provide prescribing services for the Smokefree West Sussex programme.
The contract covers the prescribing of Varenicline and Cytisinicline (Cytisine) for service users accessing the county’s smoking cessation service.
The agreement has a value of £800,000 and is expected to run from 3 July 2026 until 14 June 2029.
The contract was awarded through a direct award under the Light Touch Regime. The council cited technical reasons, stating that competition was absent and the award met the criteria for a single supplier direct award. No risks to contract performance were identified.
