Warwickshire County Council Selects Seven Providers for £29m Short Stay Care Contracts

Warwickshire County Council has selected seven providers for its Pathway 2 Residential Short Stay Bed Block Contracts, worth £28.98 million excluding VAT.

Butts Croft Limited, Runwood Homes Limited, Serene Care Ltd, Simply Care Group UK Ltd, St Mary’s Nursing Home Limited, Te Hira Care Home Limited and WCS Care Group Limited have been selected to provide short-term residential care for people who are medically ready to leave hospital but require further support or assessment before moving on.

The council is seeking approximately 52 D2A short stay beds and eight Moving On beds across North Warwickshire, Rugby and South Warwickshire. The contracts are expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2031, with extensions of up to five further years available.

The award decision was made on 4 August 2026 following a competitive flexible procedure. Thirteen tenders were received and assessed, with seven suppliers selected.
