Royal Borough of Greenwich Intends to Award Breastfeeding Support Contract

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has announced its intention to award a £330,000 contract to The Breastfeeding Network to continue delivering its Infant Feeding Peer Support Service.

The contract will provide breastfeeding support services to residents across the borough and is expected to run from 1 July 2026 until 30 June 2029.

The award is being made under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 using Direct Award Process C. The council stated that the existing provider is satisfying the current contract and is likely to continue delivering the service to a sufficient standard. The decision was based on the provider’s combined scores against the authority’s weighted evaluation criteria.

The contract has a lifetime value of £330,000 excluding VAT (£396,000 including VAT).

The council has published the notice as an intention to award, with providers able to submit representations until 9 July 2026 before the contract is signed.
