The London Borough of Hackney is inviting existing and prospective home care providers to take part in a market engagement event ahead of a forthcoming procurement for home care services.
The council is developing a new Home Care contract focused on delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support that enables people to remain independent in their own homes.
Hackney said the future service will seek to deliver safe, responsive and high-quality home care, improve outcomes and promote independence, and support continuity of care and person-centred practice.
The proposed model will also encourage innovation and technology-enabled care, strengthen partnership working between providers, health partners and Adult Social Care, and seek to provide value for money while supporting a stable and skilled workforce.
The market engagement exercise will give providers an opportunity to hear more about the council’s commissioning vision, strategic priorities and proposed procurement and contract model.
The sessions will also cover the indicative procurement timetable, proposed service specification and quality expectations, as well as Social Value and partnership opportunities. Providers will be able to ask questions of the commissioning and procurement teams and provide feedback on the proposed approach.
Hackney said the engagement is intended to ensure the future procurement is informed by market intelligence and reflects current challenges and opportunities within the sector.
The event is open to current commissioned home care providers, providers not currently commissioned by the council, new organisations considering entering the local market, voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, and providers offering innovative approaches to care at home.
The online events will take place via Google Meet on 14 August and 19 August 2026, from 11:30am to 1pm.
Providers wishing to attend are asked to register their interest through the ProContract messaging facility by 18 August. Joining instructions and an event agenda will be provided to registered attendees.
Attendance is voluntary and will not form part of the subsequent procurement process. The council has confirmed that taking part, or choosing not to participate, will not provide an advantage or disadvantage during any future procurement exercise.
A formal procurement process is expected to begin following completion of the market engagement exercise, with further information on the procurement timetable to be released in due course.
