Essex County Council has awarded a contract for the delivery of the Coppins Court extra care scheme to Counties & Capital Consulting Ltd following an open procurement procedure.
The contract is valued at £16.5 million and relates to the construction of a 60-apartment extra care scheme on an Essex County Council-owned site within the Tendring District Council area. The site has full planning approval.
According to the contract notice, the appointed Registered Provider will build, own and manage the development. The scheme will provide accommodation for people with care and support needs, including:
The award decision was made on 25 June 2026, with the earliest contract signature date scheduled for 8 July 2026, following a nine-working-day standstill period.
The contract is expected to run from 7 August 2026 to 7 August 2028.
