Alzheimer’s Society has been awarded two contracts to deliver Dementia Support Services on behalf of Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council, with a combined value of more than £2.6 million.
The jointly commissioned service will provide dementia support across both authority areas following a procurement process undertaken by the two councils. As part of the commissioning process, the authorities carried out a soft market engagement exercise to help shape the future service model and specification.
For Leicester City Council, Alzheimer’s Society has been awarded a contract worth £1,075,090 excluding VAT(£1,290,108 including VAT). For Leicestershire County Council, the organisation has secured a second contract valued at £1,581,024 excluding VAT (£1,897,229 including VAT).
Both contracts are expected to commence on 1 October 2026 and run until 30 September 2029, with the option to extend for a further two years through two 12-month extension periods.
The contracts were awarded through an open procedure under the Light Touch Regime. A total of 18 tenders were received for the county services contract and 17 tenders for the city services contract, with Alzheimer’s Society selected as the successful provider for both lots.
