The Ministry of Defence is seeking a provider to deliver the Defence Healthy Child Programme (DEFHCP) for eligible family members living overseas, under an estimated £3.04 million three-year contract.

The programme will provide community midwifery and specialist community public health nursing support for children and young people aged 0–19 and their families. While broadly aligned with the UK National Healthy Child Programme, the service will be adapted to meet the specific healthcare requirements of Defence families overseas.

Service Requirements

The DEFHCP will provide a single point of access to clinical public health services, covering community midwifery and specialist community public health nurse (SCPHN) 0–19 provision.

Support will span preconception, pregnancy and child development, with an emphasis on improving health outcomes and identifying children, young people and families at risk as early as possible.

The service will work in partnership with Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC), Defence Medical Command (DMedC), education, welfare and community services.

Delivery is intended to be closely integrated with DPHC Overseas primary care, reflecting the different arrangements for healthcare coordination, delivery and funding affecting Defence populations outside the UK.

Cyber Security Requirements
