Healthcare professionals are being invited to visit Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) this September as part of NHS England’s Go-See Visits programme, which enables organisations to share learning and showcase successful improvement initiatives.
Taking place on 8 September 2026 from 11am to 1pm at Wythenshawe Hospital, the visit will explore how the trust has developed one of the country’s leading breast cancer pathways through a sustained focus on continuous improvement.
The session, titled “From Improvement Vision to Patient Impact”, will highlight MFT’s approach to improving patient pathways, with the trust reporting that it consistently achieves more than 90% performance against the NHS Faster Diagnostic Standard for breast cancer and over 80% against the 62-day cancer treatment standard.
Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in Gemba walks, meet frontline teams and hear how continuous improvement methods have been embedded across the organisation to improve patient care, experience and outcomes.
There are currently seven places available for the visit.
The event forms part of NHS England’s wider Go-See Visits programme, through which NHS organisations open their doors to share learning with colleagues from across the health service. To date, 12 organisations have hosted visits, showcasing approaches ranging from large-scale system transformation to local, team-led improvement projects.
NHS organisations interested in hosting a future Go-See visit are encouraged to contact the NHS England Improvement Delivery team.
