South East London Mind, Mind in Bexley and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust will host their eighth annual World Suicide Prevention Day Conference on 10 September 2026, bringing together professionals, people with lived experience and members of the public to raise awareness of suicide prevention and reduce stigma.

Held online, the event will feature presentations highlighting current suicide prevention work alongside personal stories from individuals bereaved by suicide. A non-denominational service of remembrance, led by chaplains from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, will also provide an opportunity to remember those who have died by suicide.

The conference supports the aims of the NHS Long Term Plan and the Suicide Prevention Strategy for England by promoting awareness, encouraging meaningful conversations and highlighting the importance of timely support for people affected by suicide.

The South East London Suicide Bereavement Service provides free support for people of all ages across Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark who have been bereaved by suicide. Since launching, the service has supported more than 700 people, helping to reduce the risk of further mental health crises through early and compassionate intervention.

Registration for the online event is available via Eventbrite.
