Hillingdon Council Awards ADHD and Autism Transition Support Contract

The London Borough of Hillingdon has awarded a contract to deliver specialist transition support for secondary-aged pupils with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The contract has been awarded to the Centre for ADHD and Autism Support and is valued at £261,947 including VAT.

The service is designed to help children with ADHD and autism navigate the often challenging transition from primary school to secondary school. Moving from smaller and more familiar learning environments into larger secondary settings can present significant challenges, including increased sensory stimulation, larger peer groups and more complex school structures.

Under the contract, the provider will deliver support and advice across mainstream academies and maintained secondary schools throughout the borough. The service model is intended to be scalable, enabling more children to benefit from specialist support while also creating resources and tools that schools can continue using in the future.

The project aims to support children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to remain in mainstream education, reducing the need for specialist placements while improving educational outcomes and long-term life chances.

The council has stated that it intends to undertake a competitive tender process during 2026 for a new longer-term arrangement, with a proposed commencement date of 1 April 2027.
