Manchester City Council has awarded a contract worth £845,552.24 to Age Concern Manchester to deliver its Home from Hospital service.
The service is designed to improve outcomes for older people following a stay in hospital by providing support with transport home, helping people settle back into their homes, and assisting them to remain safe in their home environment.
The contract is expected to run from 1 July 2026 until 30 June 2028.
The contract was awarded through a direct award under the Light Touch Regime. The council stated that it had previously conducted a competitive procurement exercise, but the tender process had to be stopped for unforeseen reasons. The direct award was made to ensure continuity of a key public service.
