Therapeutic Treatment Service for Children and Young People Who Are Survivors of Sexual Abuse

NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board is seeking suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver a Therapeutic Treatment Service for Children and Young People Who Are Survivors of Sexual Abuse. The contract is being procured through a Competitive Process under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023.

The service is intended to provide therapeutic support for children and young people aged 17 and under who are victims or survivors of sexual abuse or sexual exploitation, alongside support for their non-abusing parents or carers. The overall aim is to minimise the impact of abuse on mental health and emotional wellbeing while helping children and young people build resilience and achieve improved outcomes.

The commissioned provider will be expected to:

  • Provide therapeutic support to children and young people aged 17 and under who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual exploitation.
  • Support non-abusing parents and carers.
  • Promote resilience to reduce vulnerability to further abuse.
  • Support access to specialist services where additional or ongoing needs are identified.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between services where ongoing support is required.
  • Deliver services that are appropriately adapted to meet the needs of children and young people, including those with protected characteristics where appropriate.
  • Support children and young people to develop healthy and trusting relationships.
  • Improve emotional, psychological and physical wellbeing.
  • Increase knowledge and understanding among children, young people and their parents or carers about supporting and protecting the child or young person.

The contract will commence on 1 January 2027 for an initial period of 15 months, with the option for the Commissioner to extend the agreement by up to a further 12 months.
