Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is re-procuring a Managed Service Agreement for satellite dialysis and home haemodialysis services, with an estimated contract value of almost £297.5 million excluding VAT.
The Trust is seeking an independent dialysis provider to deliver the services and work alongside Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust as a long-term strategic partner.
The procurement covers hospital dialysis services in London, with the proposed agreement offering a potential term of up to 15 years if the available extension is exercised.
The procurement is focused on the provision of satellite dialysis and home haemodialysis services through a Managed Service Agreement.
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust intends to establish a strategic partnership with a recognised dialysis specialist acting as the lead supplier.
The Trust has chosen not to divide the procurement into separate lots. It considers separating clinical and facilities management services could result in different suppliers being responsible for elements of the renal dialysis service.
According to the Trust, this could create contract management and supplier interface risks, alongside operational and clinical challenges associated with managing multiple relationships across different sites forming part of a single service.
The Trust has also undertaken market engagement to establish that the proposed approach is viable.
